September 2025 Run don’t walk to Saint Bibiana! It’s that good. Tucked inside a historic mansion associated with the new Hotel Bardo, this beautiful restaurant serves modern Italian cuisine that is some of the best we have tasted recently. Located on Drayton Street next to Savannah’s famous Forsyth Park, the restaurant has an inspired menu including house-made pasta, an extensive wine list, and the service was over the top. While everyone that we met was super helpful and happy to be working there, our server Kristen was very energetic, knowledgeable and generous. Our evening started with cocktails; a barrel-aged Negroni for my wife and a rye manhattan for me. Both were on-point, but the Negroni was very interesting in that Kristen showed us a special memo book that contained what ingredients were added to the barrel, when they were added and who added them. Next we had our Antipasta; Arancini Alla Siciliana and the Summer Fruit which was 500-day prosciutto with grilled fresh peaches and hot honey.

The arancini was nicely spiced with tomato-braised pork and risotto and the prosciutto melted in your mouth. While I’m not a peach lover, these were firm and sweet and combined with the hot honey, I ate all of them on my plate. Next was a very fresh salad containing radicchio, sugar peas, and pea shoots in a pecorino Romano vinaigrette that was so delicious. Our pasta selections that we shared were the Ravioli Margarite and the Cavatelli Sardi. The ravioli was topped with a mint pesto that worked nicely with the pecorino cheese and the cavatelli had just the right amount of spicy heat that we both enjoyed. Hold on though…the best dish was one we didn’t even order. Kristen brought us the Polenta Romano topped with a duck egg and insisted we couldn’t leave here without tasting this and she was so right. We ate all of it! Our wonderful evening at Saint Bibiana ended with espresso and sharing the Delizia Al Limone, a lemon olive oil cake. Fortunately, we only had to walk a few steps back to our hotel room at the Bardo. We will return soon for another fabulous meal at Saint Bibiana in our favorite southern City!
